When The Universe Was Young
When The Universe Was Young, oil on 48×48 gallery wrapped canvas. This portrait is of a young woman in a future place where she and nature (in the form of the dragon) have re-established their mutual affinity, each with the other. I painted this piece for an exhibit titled ‘Some Other Place’. The premise of the show was to depict ‘Women of Color in Future and Fantasy Places’, an area which I and the phenomenal artists who showed with me believe is underrepresented by African American women. The artists included myself, Jerushia Graham, Kottavei Williams. The exhibit was held at the Arts XChange in Atlanta, Georgia.
